The search for Cleopatra's tomb may have ended. During a conference at the University of Palermo, Zahi Hawass, an archaeologist, Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, announced that he had identified the burial site of the last queen of Egypt. The tomb would be located in Taposiris Magna (Abusir), which has long been the site of archaeological excavations, about 50 kilometers from Alessandria. "The rooms are all submerged - explained Hawass -, a condition that does not allow us to dig well. Therefore, even before starting to dig, we must free them from water ". Hawass is convinced to find also the remains of Mark Antony. According to the archaeologist the two would be buried together by the faithful of the queen: a way to keep the two lovers together even after death.
