Hello and welcome to the DEMO BBS advertiser Letter. This chart contains a
a list of high quality boards in germany. You can be sure, by calling one of
the later advertised boards that you can get the latest DEMO and ART stuff
stuff around. Also you can find all the necessary information for your
distribution sites list. For example, the number of your german hq changes
and you cant get the right connection because of old wrong number, normally
no way out but with the help of this file letter no kinda problem.
Besides this, you can read interesting interviews with sysops, brothers
in the scene or reviews of latest mayor releases. Short, the needfull stuff
about boards, their life and their releases/uploads.
Why the mothafukin dope this letter you may ask. Take it as a try to
get back to the roots, to get the good old days back. Nowadays the scene
is confused or maybe chaotic. A lotta bbs gonna come up and after a couple
of months they close their gates. This sukks and is gonna make the people
around confused and it doesnt supports the scene in a good way (imho).
Besides people can get easily contact to their local boards. Can check
where the nearest location to call in is, so that this provides a optimal
support for the affiliated groups.

because it is mostly for the german scene". Imho we should keep the
magazine mainly in english to provide readable news and informs for
our forgein brothers. But please send us your opinion about this

hello people.
cosmic asked me to write an article for the next issue of bbsflash and
so i did.
i want to loose some words about the german art scene in generall here.
i'm a lillbit disapointed on how the whole thing developed since i made my
first ansis or tunes. don't take this article to heavy since i don't
speak about concret persons. what i want to say is that i don't want
to insult anyone with this and it's my own subjective point of view.
i will be very happy if you can't share my opinion and if you like to
discuss the topics please contact me !
for example i'm really unhappy with all those so called "wars". what
the fuck are they supposed to mean ? i don't think the arguements
held in scene.ger give a good impression of what we're doning here for
non-sceners or those who want to start with "scening".
and huuuuu ... if you follow the scene.ger you might know that there
were several discussions about me, too. (i couldn't really follow them and
i only know what other people told me. as you can imagine i'm very anoyed
about them) i neither wanted to support fbk against buster nor i tryed to
insult buster in anyway. i work like a devil for the scene .. i spend the
most of my spare time in creating ansis or musix and also to keep my board
running (it even costs me about 1000 dm a month). a now i have to hear
about such things. i don't think many people would matter if i leaved
the scene. but believe me if not me, many others will do and faster you
can imagine there's no one left to argue with.
if you take a look at our boards we have a bad situation as well.
everybody trys to gather the most files and the most users. in my
opinion there seems to be a war ,too. there are several good boards. my
favourites are "undercover", "x-press" and "prototype" (huuu i really hope
the hideout will go online asap .. if you've ever called it you know why)
but there are so many unknown unrecognized boards as well.
many people seem to think,that running a board is easier then calling one.
you don't have to pay as much as if you were calling arround .. but they
don't seem to recognize that it's a hard work to keep a good board
running either !(f.e. all those users complaining, that this and t hat
doesn't work correct, configuring, leeching new files (what could become
even more expensive then just being a ordinary user)) if everybody had a
board .. if everybody was a sysop, who should be the user now ?!
these lill boards i was speaking of want to have their own whq, too. so
there are many new groups founded every year. you can't have an overview
of them and so, it is hard to differ the good ones from the bad ones.
for these people making music or ansis seems to be the most easy way to
have an own group and the results are mostly often horrible.
many people just want to be in a group and don't really work for it.
they are happy with just being in a group, what has a bad influence through
german group's releases.
huuuuu heavy stuff. maybe there are people who share my thoughts and maybe
even you yourself are disapointed now ! if you don't have such a bad
opinion about the scene write my. maybe we could have a discussion about
all this in the next bbs-flash

ps : isn't it the "GERMAN" bbs newsflash ? why the hell write the articles
in english ? mhhhhh only god knows ..
Cosmic: Because of that this letter should inform foreign people what
happens in the german scene. And a british brother can't read
german that good (normally) and maybe my english, too. :)

Hiya all... fÅr alldie Leute, die es nicht zur Convention geschafft haben -
hier eine kleine Zusammenfassung...welche natuerlich hoechst SUBJEKTIV
ist...
Beim Blauhaus handelte es sich um einen seltsamen grossen Saal (Fassade
einer ehemaligen Kaufhalle - innen ziemlich hoch und kahl) der, wie der
Name schon sagt, in Blau gehalten war... nicht sehr atmosphÑrisch, aber
fuer eine Party wie diese vollkommen okay. Am Eingang warten ein paar
Ñu·erst liebenswuerdige Leute, die uns auf Essen etc. kontrollierten -
gegebenenfalls mitgebrachte Nahrungsmittel mu·te am Eingang abgegeben
(allerdings konnte man sie sich im Laufe des Abends aushaendigen lassen
und im Vorraum hinterhauen).
Gut... dann der erste Eindruck - PCs..PCs...PCs... dieser Eindruck legte
sich aber mit fortschreitender Stunde, nachdem so langsam alle Leute
eintrudelten...was auf den PC's lief, ist natuerlich klar... Doom oder
DukeNukem3d... nungut... wir haben dafuer auch einen entsprechenden Ruf
in der Amigascene weg.
In der Halle befand sich eine BÅhne an deren Ende die Organizer-Tables auf-
gebaut waren, zusammen mit einem Videoprojekter der auf eine etwa 3.5m mal
3.5m grosse Videowand Ñltere Amigademos projezierte. Die Soundanlage war
soweit stark genug, die Boxen jedoch schon etwas abgenutzt, soda· die lang-
sam gewordenen Membranen fuer einen etwas dumpfen, grummeligen Sound
sorgten.
Waehrend der gesamten Nacht bin ich auf folgendes PhÑnomen gestossen:
wÑhrend die alteingesessenen Amiga-Cracks ein teilweise ziemlich ueber-
hebliches Behaviour an den Tag legten, waren die neueren, nicht so be-
kannten Groups und Leute weitaus offener und freundlicher. Bei der PC-
Scene ist es oft genau andersherum...
Es wurde eine Funcompo veranstaltet - Dynablaster Matches... und zu um
21.00 Uhr startete dann eine SurpriseCompo - eine Fast-Ascii-Compo.
So.. irgendwann war dann endlich die 4chn Compo... schade das keine Sitz-
reihen existieren... so ist jeder mehr oder minder mit einem Stuhl nach
vorne gewankt.. egal...
Angenehm an der Compo war, das einem auf der Videowand
ab und zu ein Blick in den Tracker gewÑhrt wurde, das hei·t, man konnte
durchaus sehen, was so technisch in dem Module steckte.. was sicherlich
mehr was fuer die Sounder war, da andere Leute sicherlich nicht so schnell
"mitlesen" koennen... der Name des Composer und die Dateigroesse wurde
Åbrigens auch angegeben. Eine interessante Sache also.
Die Grafikcompo war sehr durchschnittlich - mehr brauche ich dazu eigent-
lich nicht sagen.
Die c64-Compo war wieder herrlich - cool was die alles aus dem alten Brot-
kasten rausholen!
Dann letztendlich die Amigacompo. Nur 3 oder 4 Entries, der erste war sehr
Videoszenendominiert mit einigen netten Effekten, der zweite war recht
durchschnittlich und irgendwann kam dann das Demo von Matrix was wohl tech-
nisch das beste wahr... hat auch gewonnen.
Mit einiger VerspÑtung erlebten wir dann noch die Auswertung und die
Preisvergabe, die aber eigentlich keinen aufgrund der MÅdigkeit noch
interessierte...dann wieder ab in die KÑlte und nach Hause...

EsCom bought Amiga and formed AmigaTechnologies ... I guess
nobody have missed that, right? :)
But there still are few individuals out there who don't believe in
Amiga and its future ... Some even say that
PC is the future, that Amiga has nothing to come up with!
And this is something that I and many others can't understand, that
how people actually defends and likes this sorry machine!
Sure, it's fun with a chunky mode, but is that really so important?
The Amiga demo scene is the one and only ... The PC demo scene is just
a shadow of the original and will never have the atmosphere, groups
parties and productions the Amiga demo scene has ...
Why have the lame PC users invaded our demo parties with their lame
machines? Why don't they play their fucking games at home?
Party organisers!, make Amiga only parties! Let the PC lamers organise
their own parties! We don't need them!
During the year change 96/97 EsCom has promised to give us a new Amiga
model, the PowerAmiga! They have also promised better sound and OS just
to mention a few things ...
What more do we need? Think of it, a new model of the
baby we all love, could come within 10 months!
This will kick new life into the both scenes, demo and modem ...
I personally believe in EsCom and AT 100%! They know what we want and
need! And they will not fail!
Don't surrender for Bill Gates and their lame'n sad machines!
Just wait 10-15 months and we will all rise with pride
and show the traitors!
96/97 will be ours!

Okay, just an quick&short impression. Quake (as you already know through
the pressinforms by id.software) is a doom like 3d game. The main goal
is to blow everything down and to grab some items. Kinda easy as always.
The demo offers only deathmatch games so that you should have at least
2 computers (& ipx network) and a friend to setup some action around you.
It is recommended that you should have a minimum of 8mb of ram and a
Pentium system. 486proc may work but the performance degrades muchas
on that chipset. Best configuration seems to be p1OO+&16mb ram.
Anyway, the graphics looks slightly better than DOOM but without any
monsters i couldn't say how fast it is. Pure background object animation
only. Besides this demo includes three different maps only (4, 6 and
8 player deathmatch levels) which you can play with (against) your
friends.
Remember that this is only a TEST version without complete levels or
action so that there are maybe a lotta bugs to find out and that the
demo is kinda boring for a single player.
Finally i can say that i'am lookin forward to the final QUAKE but
this release is only worth to download for DOOM fans.

New month, new TRAXX release. The FEB package comes along with muchas
bytes to download. As TRAXX grows up their package does the same way

Kinda critical question because you'll find some very interesting
songs (by Blazerunner, Blue Adonis, Undertaker) but some kinda crap
too (low quality, poor hardcore stuph). In my opinion the JAN package
was slightly better sorted and the quality was better of course. Try
two or three disks and have a look at them and then judge if you want
to have all disks or even not. A great improvement would be when BA
introduces a quality control so that some (strange) music never
appears in the TRAXX package. Anyway, i'am just a fan of TRAXX so that
i gonna download always the latest release and try to find some
listenable music (and there is often enuff something for my mind).
