* Interact will be bringing out a playstation memory card that not
only has 120 game-save slots (sony's has 15) but it also comes
preprogrammed with the very latest and greatest codes and cheats
for the most current playstation games. This should be available
now for about $30. to contact Interact:

* Datel had developed a action replay board for the Playstation called
"Game Shark". With this device you can find cheats and codes for
Playstation games. The board will connect to the parallel connector
at the back of the playstation. There will be a WEB site were you
can get the latest codes for your Game Shark
(http://www.smart.net./~Interact).

* There is a new Homepage on Internet where you can get the latest
cheats, walkthroughs & tips for the Playstation. The homepage has
some interesting links to other pages like a link to the page of the
"Official Playstation Magazine". You can also find all the PSX Freaks

* Sony Interactive Europe will be releasing its titles on the saturn.
What this means is that previously exclusive playstation titles like
Wipeout and Destruction Derby are now going to be on the saturn. The
offical sony comment was, "We are not aware of either discussions or
agreements on this issue, and we are not in a possition to comment
further". Sega officials had this to say: "It's always been our
intent to seek great software experiences, and Sony Intercative Europe
had shown the ability to supply those experiences". Well it means that
the reports are true!.

* Mad Catz, controller designers for nearly every videogame system out
there have designed the Mad Catz Analog Steering Wheel. You not only
get a 270-degree turning wheel with a control pad and eight activator
buttons built right into the face, but is also comes packaged with
gear shift and foot pedal attachments.

* Virtual I/O has financed the development of a VR Headset for the
Playstation. There will be $19 million avalable for the development of
this peace of kit!. A partnership with Seattle-based Zombie to develop
virtual reality games for the headset may also be in the works.

* Konami is working on it's futuristic shoot'em up "Project Overkill".
Project Overkill looks set to appear oficially in june. The best about
the game is the blasting action and copious amounts of gore!!.

* There is a romour that a playstation MODEM is in development.
This device can be plugged in the I/O port at the back of the
Playstation and will allow you to play against a friend via the
telefoonwire!. A telefooncable can be connected to this device and
it will act like a linkcable with the only difference that your
opponent can be miles away sitting in front of his television at home!

THE TWO METHODS OF BOOTING
METHOD ONE:
[1] Switch on the Playstation, with no disk in.
[2] Move to the AUDIO menu, and press a key on the pad.
[3] Insert, your ORIGINAL PAL BOOT disk, then jam something into the grey
switch inside the playstation. The PSX thinks the lid has been shut,
and the disk starts spinning.
[4] The PSX will then list all the tracks on your ORIGINAL PAL BOOT disk.
Your PSX should still be open at this point, although the PSX will
think its shut!.
[5] Remove the ORIGINAL PAL BOOT disk, and stick in your IMPORT (NTSC) disk.
[6] Move onto the EXIT option, and press a key on the pad.
[7] The PSX will then run the IMPORT (NTSC) DISK!
The above procedure works fine, but it means the lid is open, so it may be
better to wire a switch to the PSX etc...

METHOD TWO
There are some "new" games that don't work with the above method. These
games must be started with the "Bootswap" method to get them working.
A big disadvantage of this method is that you must swap the disk while the
PSX is starting to boot!! (disk is spinning).
[1] Switch on the Playstation, with no disk in.
[2] Move to the AUDIO menu, and press a key on the pad.
[3] Insert, your ORIGINAL PAL BOOT disk, then jam something into the grey
switch inside the playstation. The PSX thinks the lid has been shut,
and the disk starts spinning.
[4] While the ORIGINAL PAL BOOT disk is spinning, RESET the PSX.
[5] The PSX is starting to boot and the disk is spinning and reading
the Copy protection and TOC (Table Of Contents) from the PAL cd.
[6] Just before the cd starts spinning faster, pull it out (while it's
spinning!) and swap it with the IMPORT (NTSC) disk.
[7] If you did it the right way the IMPORT (NTSC) should start to boot now!.
If it doesn't boot, you didn't swap the disc's fast enough or you
didn't do it at the right time, Try again!
This method works with all the games but it's better to start cd's via the
first method!.
The PSX will read the Table Of Contents of the PAL BOOT cd and the audio
tracks from the IMPORT (NTSC) disk, so the sound will be fine with this
method. with the first method the sound will get chopped most times
(or you will get NO sound) because the audiotracks will be read from
the PAL BOOT cd.
