Hi, and welcome to the 'swap section' of Sabotage. In this column we
will be bringing you the latest news and rumours that floats around in our
community.
We, the editors, hope that you will support us with some nice information
regarding yourself or your contacts. If for example your friend has ended
up with with a broken leg after falling down a tree (hi Hellrazor), when you
were drunk, then tell us about it!
We are interested in knowing about everything that happens, and of
course, the only way to get that is through you.
So keep the support coming, and enjoy the section!

-| Preface |-
I guess some of you are quite unsure what kind of Section 'Swap News'
really is, even if the title speaks for itself, so therefore I'm going to
explain it to you with a few simple words. First of all, 'Swap News' was
created to become the official news and rumour board for swappers. The main
idea is that everyone can send both Lahve or me some bytes about something
that has happened on the swapping scene. For example, this could be
information regarding people who recently started to swap or just some
information about a person going to the military etc. There are no limits
for what you can send in to us! If one of your contacts have done a foolish
thing for example, then please give us the news, and we will print it in the
rumours corner.

· Dr.Hirudo/Void (Swapper) from Bulgaria has started swapping

label
· Firefox/Axicon (Swapper) from Germany has entered the Amiga swapping scene

· Since Evan/MAWI (Swapper) left Nah-Kolor, Case/Nah-Kolor (Swapper) will
start compiling the Speed pack. Rumours says that Evan/MAWI will get his
own pack in MAWI, and that it will be released as soon as possible.
· Mr.X/Giants (Coder/Swapper) will most possible re-join the scene
· Azzaro/MAWI (Swapper) from Poland and some other guys will start
boicotting Eurochart (Why? -Ed). Rumours says that it has to do with
Western sceners arrogant behaviour.

- corrosion crew just got back from JFJF - yugoslav festival of cheap
movies. after 5 days of movies, concerts and partying, all we can do is
to tell all of you had chance to come but didn't do it, that you've missed
a lot. concerning our little crew, we did a great LO-TEK KINGS live act,
our 2 demos were screened during the festival [BURST and PROJECT42] and we
released our first LOW-FI movie called ON SARMA. this was also the place
where our cooperation with video group KADAR was presented in form of ROAD
TO HELL video with the lo-tek kings tune N2O [soon to be released as ep on
cd!]

MINOR THREAT [TNT] joined and formed a new backbone of of our BBS'
- big and top secret demo project got started
- ILLUSION got out from the finnish army and is back on tracking

Witam wszystkich i od razu przechode do sedna sprawy. Wszystkich ktorzy
czekaja na list ode mnie musze zmartwic, bo nie bedzie zadnych az do
poczatku grudnia. W moim zyciu zaszlo sporo zmian i do chwili obecnej nie
mam tez pojecia, czy nie bede musial pojsc do wojska. To glownie z tego
powodu prawie do nikogo ostatnio nie pisalem. Po przyjezdzie z SLC w
skrzynce znalazlem wezwanie po odbior biletu. Caly moj swiat stanal do gory
nogami. Zarywalem noce, nabijalem rachunek telefoniczny i zaczalem odczowac
pierwsze objawy choroby wrzodowej. Zlozylem podanie o przyznanie sluzby
zastepczej i jakis miesiac temu mialem komisje. Cywilna czesc komisji byla
za mna i po glosowaniu uradzili, ze bede mogl odrabiac wojsko, ale mister
wojak zapowiedzial, ze sie odwola od tej decyzji. Przez caly niemal
pazdziernik biegalem po roznych urzedach zalatwialem, kombinowalem i w koncu
nawet udalo mi sie zalatwic w moim miescie miejsce gdzie mogl bym przez
kolejne 21 miesiecy odrabiac wojo, ale oczywiscie to nie koniec calejj
sprawy. W chwili obecnej oczekuje na decyzje z WKU. Jezeli odwolaja sie od
postanowienia komisji, to czeka mnie jeszcze jedna - tym razewm w Katowicach
- a znecac nade mna sie beda prawdziwi zawodowcy, ktorzy takich jak ja
wysylaja dziennie setkami do jednostek wojskowych. Badzmy jednak dobrej
nadzieji. Tak wiec listu ode mnie spodziewajcie sie nie wczesniej niz na
poczatku grudnia. Musze wszystko pozalatwiac i zebrac swierze tematy do
listow. Poza tym przez niemal trzy miesiace bylem odciety od sceny nie mam
pojecia co sie tam teraz dzieje - wiem, ze ma byc w szczecinie duze party :)
- tak wiec gdy tylko dostaniecie ode mnie list to prose o najswiezsze wiesci
z "frontu".
Druga sprawa to "Strefa Mroku". Jesli jestes, byles, lub masz zamiar
zostac czytelnikiem i wspoltworca tego wspanialego maga, to nadaza sie ku
temu wspaniala okazja, gdyz jeszcze w tym roku planowane jest wydanie nowego
- piatego - numeru. Aby jednak do tego doszlo musze zebrac odpowiednia
ilosc artykulow, wiec jesli zalezy ci na tym by "Strefa Mroku" nadal
wychodzila to lap za CEDa i pisz. Jezeli do konca grudnia nie nadejdzie
odpowiednia ilosc artow, to daje sobie spokoj i "Strefa Mroku" byc moze ujzy
swiatlo dzienne jedynie na internecie. Jezeli nie ma zainteresowania z
waszej strony, to po co zbytecznie sie meczyc. To smutne, ze magazyn trafia
na chartsy, a pozniej wszyscy go olewaja. Minelo tak wiele czasu od wydania
poprzedniego numeru, a artykulow nie ma nawet tyle, zeby wypelnic "glupie"
dwa dzialy - nie wliczajac dzialu "Od redakcji" :) Tak na marginesie, to
jesli jszcze ktos nie wie, to od jakiegos juz czasu jestem nowym rednaczem
"strefy" - i chyba bede jedynym w hostorii, ktoremu nie uda sie poskladac
numeru... Tak wiec lapac sie za CED'a i popraiac mi humor :)

hi swappers and the others checking this production. yes! we`ve just
crossed over the five issues going straight to the new one. as you`ve been
noticed, MANY things has changed, we made it as a little x-mas present for
you, swappers :). i asked some great artist for support and here is a
result:
- new introscreen made by zaac/mankind
- 2 mods (!), this time made by rno musicians (roz+kure)
- engine updated: - section "swap" added, mainly organized by punisher/dkg
- dbm player added (we can accept .dbm music now!!)
- new asciis made by zito/rsn+dkg+lot
gosh, let`s make sabotage better and better! thanks all of you who
supported me with their stuff, hopefully swappers will like it more now :).
and which stuff lies inside? there are not so much incoming parties, so
we have no invitations (except "the party" in denmark, but nobody made any
ascii file) today. in short, "message" section is not so good this time,
hopefully it will be changed in the next issue. next thing, swappers` chart
was moved to the better place in "swap" section, also punisher joined our
staff as main "swap" section organizer. please take a look to "swap forum".
it`s a sheet (spreaded especially by punisher) where you can put some
interesting problem to solve or discuss, so please use this sheet in "bonus"
drawer and add some notes about recent problem there. also please make more
votes for sabotage, we really need it!
and what you could read next time? probably, 2 mods in one issue made by
qwan/uprough, new outroscreen made by comanche, new articles, hot news,
messages etc., you know it.
so, i have to thank zaac, roz, kure, punisher, bolda, id and zito who

welcome to this little section for all swappers and other freaks who is
obliging to write some nice words about anything. this pack won`t be
regular diskmag, so i await only some nice experiences with swap, some
partyreports, funny stories... in short it would be good to fill this space
by one to three little articles to be written here. of course, main thing
is news, adverts etc, but this section is here only for variegating this
pack, i still prefer news section, but anyway, no problem to send me some
good/worse experiences with some swapper, any recommending about swappers,
some feelings about new swapper on the scene etc, you know.
please help us a little and don`t let this lines be only mine forever.
don`t be afraid to write some worse about someone, some critics or what, but
please don`t make unnecessary flamewars or big raging here. this mag is
dark and spooky, but please keep friendshipping here as much as you are
already doin` in your snails.
if someone has any new idea to use it here, no problem to realize it,
because this engine was done like full-valuable diskmag and i`m using only
little part of it. but i still want to let this pack in the simple form, we
have many good diskmags which need your help more than sabotage. this pack
could be only little bulletin-board for all swappers in whole amiga world.
keep this infos fresh with your news, memberlists, tunes, introscreens and
moral support and keep this pack spreading only via swapping, no inet
spreading please! thanx for it.
THE OLD DIEHARDS (WRITTEN BY PUNISHER)
I really miss those days when I could buy decent papermagazines focusing
on the computer we all love. Now that CU-Amiga and all the others have been
removed from the market, I feel that something is missing in my life.
Something that gave me a feeling of happiness and content. I'm sure that at
least some of you that are reading this text feels the same. However, what
I want to write about is what I've been doing the last days. Namely reading
through my old Amiga magazines.
It was an amazing experience to once again read old diehards like 'Amiga
Forum', 'CU-Amiga' and 'Databladet'. I had almost forgotten how fun it was!
I did also become pretty amazed by the huge quantity of reviews the
magazines had back then. Roughly about twenty good game reviews, a couple
of programming courses, opinions about the latest demos, utility sections
and so on. Not to mention the hardware front, which were absolutely
swarming with accelerators, video-cards, graphic-cards, sound-cards,
samplers etc. I did also began laughing when checking through a number of
CU-Amiga from 1993 where they were a bit pessimistic due to the low number
of new games being released. Is ten games per month not enough? Today it
would have been a sensation if that amount had been released.
Reading articles about what people thought would happen to the Amiga in
the future was also interesting. Many people dreamt about PowerPC based
systems, and this became true. Others had more wild ideas, but I won't go
into detail here. Also during the period when Commodore had gone bankrupt,
people were still hoping for new machines. Now we have been waiting since
1993-1994, but nothing has happened. I wonder if the same people back then
are still waiting? I guess I'm one of them, because I'm really looking
forward to see our beloving machine back on track again. Who wouldn't
though? Anyway, it's funny to read and really see for yourself who was
right and who was wrong, which ideas became reality and which did not. I
will for sure preserve my old collection of magazines for the rest of my
life. They still give me something to enjoy. So my advice to you is that
if no one bothers to produce new mags, then simply read the old ones and
dream away! The Amiga is a very important part of our modern computer
history, and we should not forget about our past! Even if the news aren't
worth reading anymore (in some cases they can be quite similar to the ones
arriving now though..) or that old game reviews are outdated, give it try!
I'm sure you will think it's fun!
I don't know why I wrote this crap, but I just wanted to share a little
bit of my joy with you. Thanks for reading!
