How to patch non-VGA games to play in VGA mode with any VGA adapter

Keep in mind, some cannot be patched such as: Bangai-O. There isn't any patch tool, you have to manually.

You will need a hex editor. ( Check www.download.com for a legal trial version hex editor )

• open the file in the hex editor (preferably CDI format)
• search for the string "KATANA"
• shortly after, you should see "JUE" followed by some numbers
• change the number string after "JUE" to "0799A10"
• save the file ( I recommend over-writing the original file, so you don't accidentally burn your old, non-patched image)

Works like a charm every time.

You will still be able to play the game with out a VGA adapter. Not sure what this will do to the game if you are using a PC Dreamcast emulator, but then there is no need to do this process...

If any one can figure out how to do this with MDS/MDF files, please let me know.
