Tofu with egg and chives (Haiti)

Tofu with egg and chives.

Ingredients:

  • Firm tofu (about 200 g) (cut into cubes)
  • 100 g Chives (cut into evenly-sized pieces)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • Chopped red chilies

for the sauce:

  • 2 tsp Minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1/3 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Chicken powder (optional)

Instructions:

  • Pour the beaten egg over the tofu, gently mix until well- coated.
  • Add cooking oil to your pan
  • Add egg-tofu mixture to the pan, fry until golden brown, set aside
  • Add a little more oil, minced garlic and chopped chili, fry until fragrant
  • Add the sauce
  • Add fried tofu back to the pan, cook until the sauce has evaporated
  • Add the chives, stir for a few seconds

It’s ready to serve.
