393 anni fa la nave da guerra svedese Vasa affondò in occasione del suo viaggio inaugurale a Stoccolma ( 1628 ). Dopo 333 anni in fondo alla baia di Stoccolma, la nave è stata riscoperta e successivamente recuperata nel 1961! Oggi, Vasa è la nave del XVII secolo meglio conservata al mondo e può essere ammirata all'interno di una struttura museale appositamente costruita a Stoccolma. Vasa è un tesoro artistico unico, consistente per il 98 percento di parti originali, tra cui centinaia di sculture lignee.
