When you talk on the cordless phone with someone, what you don't realize is that you are actually talking over a "radio station" broadcasting your entire conversation to your neighborhood.

With just about any police scanner, you can pull these frequencies out of the air and hear them right in your own home.

Cordless Phones

Even if only one person is on a portable style phone, you can still eavesdrop on both ends of the conversation, just enter the corresponding numbers into your police scanner.

Drive-Thru's

Those little boxes you talk into a McDonald's and Burger King, it's funny at first, then get's really annoying. "Would you like fries with that?", "No Sir... we're all out of shakes."

Intercoms, Baby Monitors, Walkie Talkies

Wireless desk intercoms, those Fisher Price baby monitors, walkie talkies. "Did baby make Poopy? uuhhh, baby did make poopy!"

How to Make Money by eavesdropping

I would change your setup so that you can record what comes through your scanner, whether it be putting a recorder through the scanner like you do with a telephone, or sitting a tape recorder next to the speaker.

Examples

Two cackling girls from my school were on the phone, one said she like a kid named Kyle. Then they started pretending they were on Saved By the Bell, they said Kyle, was Zack Morris and that she was Kelly and the other one was Jessica! By this time it was getting really weird and I knew I could make a easy buck off it. So I took the tape to school the next morning and confronted her, first she threatened, that didn't work, second she begged me, third, I bargained, $20. for the little filthy tape, and you know what, I still have a copy for whenever I need some more money.
They are a few others, I recorded a conversation and used a phone number that they gave while they were talking. I called her, played back the conversation and demanded she stays on the line. I told her I was special Agent 212 with the United States Secret Service and told her we had reason to believe she was part of a South American Monkey Importing ring and we explained her rights to her and said we would have a white van over at her house in a few minutes, and she was to stay where she was to avoid any problems. Of course this didn't work and she eventually hung up but it gives you an idea on what you can do.
