9 euro ticket for train and bus in germany
Recently, to counteract the increase in the price of the fuel (which recently exceeded 2 euros per liter), the German government decided to offer a monthly ticket at a fix cost of only 9 euros. The ticket allows to travel on regional trains and public transport in all Germany, and is valid for a whole month!
So last week, I bought the ticket and I was able to travel to Düsseldorf and on sunday back to Paderborn for only 9 euro.
This is a remarkable offer !! and is also valid for August 2022 as well :)
For comparison, in December I went to Frankfurt. The ticket from Paderborn to Frankfurt (only one way) costs me 79,50 euro.
OK, this ticket includes a line by ICE (Intercity-Express, a very fast train non included in the 9 EUR ticket), however the price difference is considerable !!!
