Roasted Pork Belly

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of pork belly (with skin)
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of white pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon of five spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Thick layer of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the salt, white pepper powder, five spice powder, and sugar.
  2. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork belly meat (not the skin).
  3. Poke the pork skin with a fork and brush a layer of vinegar. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Preheat the air-fryer to 350°F.
  5. Wrap the meat portion with aluminum foil paper and place it in the air-fryer.
  6. Cover the pork skin with a thick layer of sea salt.
  7. Air-fry the pork belly at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove the pork belly from the air-fryer, discard the layer of sea salt and aluminum foil paper.
  9. Increase the air-fryer temperature to 400°F and put the pork belly back in for another 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the pork belly from the air-fryer and let it cool off.
  11. Cut the pork belly into small pieces and serve. Enjoy!
