Edgar Cayce, the Prophet of Atlantis

Who was the man who was called "the prophet of Atlantis"? What secrets did his readings reveal?

He was born in March 1877, and almost by chance became the most famous seer of the last century. At a young age - he was about 23 years old - he was struck by a very strange form of hoarseness that no doctor could cure, and his voice turned into a timid whisper. He had, however, for some time already demonstrated that he was at the center of almost inexplicable phenomena: if he slept with his head resting on a book, when he woke up he knew its contents perfectly.

On the basis of this very singular phenomena, he was pushed by his family to try the path of self-hypnosis, to dispel - at least - any doubts regarding the psychological origin of his hoarseness. The path of self-hypnosis opened doors for Cayce that he didn't even imagine. While he was under hypnosis, his voice returned to perfection but, more strikingly, he was able to talk about topics that he did not know at all. It was thus, in one of these self-hypnosis sessions, that Cayce self-diagnosed the cause of his mutism, using medical terms, so technical that they could only be used and understood by a specialist in the sector.

He also spoke about the remedies that it was necessary to prepare in order to be able to heal.

The Cayce "readings"

This torpor induced by self-hypnosis and his ability to prophesy in this state, earned him the nickname of the Sleeping Prophet. Cayce continued to fall asleep twice a day for over 40 years. In each of these sessions, he provided what might be called a "reading" about the lives of those who consulted him. His remedies were almost always effective, and people of all ages and cultures began queuing to consult this very singular character. Cayce's readings soon began to highlight a particular and interesting aspect. They did not only refer to any more or less serious illnesses or pathologies suffered by those who consulted him.

Some of Cayce's prophecies

Edgar Cayce in his numerous sessions dictated a whole series of prophecies which, although not entirely accurate, still a large part of these have come true with disconcerting regularity.

He said that thousands of years ago the Nile flowed westward, the news caused a great sensation, but even more sensational was the statement of some geologists who stated that this was correct.

He also stated that the mysterious people of the Essenes once settled around the Dead Sea area, a fact now widely established by the discovery, in 1946, of the very famous Dead Sea Scrolls.

Cayce also made predictions in the field of politics and successfully predicted that two US presidents would not complete their four-year terms: without a shadow of a doubt, Kennedy and Roosevelt.

Of course, a huge doubt remains. Why was Cayce so vague in his prophecies about world wars or major political issues? There are those who see in these inaccuracies only the proof that Cayce's was helped by who everything about lost civilizations. Whatever the truth - in this regard - it cannot however be kept quiet that Cayce's "predictions" have given rise to a tendency which aims to explain or prove the existence of Atlantis, for too long, perhaps, considered only the fruit of fantasy.

Life according to Edgar Cayce

According to Cayce, the soul of man is eternal and subject to reincarnation. On earth souls would live different lives, perhaps with the aim of improving themselves. Some traces of past lives would still remain and are those that Cayce identifies from time to time and, through this identification he was able to give those who consulted him precious advice on how to shape today's life.

This conception of Cayce's life is the basis of research that starts from an archive of over 2,500 Cayce "readings", all carefully compiled and catalogued. They also constitute a sort of reference for treating certain pathologies identified by the seer and brilliantly resolved. The importance of Cayce's work, however, goes further, much further.

Just reflect on a very simple point: Cayce was able to read what a soul had been in a previous life, through these "readings" it is possible to reconstruct, completing them with the necessary connections, a history of the ancient world seen and told, however, by witnesses eyepieces. Many of these "readings" have highlighted the bloody aspects of Roman or Greek life, which perhaps were not known about, but the wealth of first-hand information provided by Cayce lies entirely in the revelations he makes about the lost continent of Atlantis.
