Does anyone have any information regarding Dr. Valentine (e.g. books he
has written, research he has been involved with, etc.)
I am looking for information regarding some unusual stones he
discovered which he thought might have been brought to Earth by
extraterrestrials.

I think you all protest too much. Ms. Stein's comments are right on the
mark. Too much of what gets posted is difficult to understand. Her
primary argument is for clarity. If this medium is for communication then
clarity of thought should be near the top of the priority list for the
regulars who post here.

The only research I know Manson Valentine to be involved with was that of
Ivan Sanderson, and, tangentially, Morris Jessup. The former was mainly
known for cryptozoology and forteana (he came up with the term
"Fafrotskies," meaning things that FAll FROm The SKIES - could this be the
origin of your "alien rocks"?) and the latter was a central figure in the
Philadelphia Experiment, and also wrote some UFO books. In fact, Jessup was
on his way to Valentine's house for dinner when he suddenly decided to
commit suicide. At least, that is what the coroner said. Then again, there
was no autopsy performed....

True enough, Steven, however...remember that this is a wholly different sort
of communications medium from what the literate world is used to. There is
the element of speed, which makes it very tempting to get your thoughts out
quickly, with perhaps less editing than might be prudent. Further remember
that the same speed that engenders these elocutionary oversights can bring
the necessary clarifications just as quickly.
I see it as kind of a trade-off. If you want deathless prose, wait two
months for your International UFO Reporter. If you want today's UFO news
today, and from a reliable source, you have but one choice.
And, as Mike says, the criticism did not fall on deaf ears. We ARE trying.
