Don, do you think it really matter to me if you are an
informant? The whole UFO story is a BIG JOKE now. Everything
is hype. I only posted the message to see what your response
was. The results are as follows.....

1) You attack my spelling error (intelligence) to gain an
upper hand.

2) You should be removed from Paranet after your wise crack
about "my head in my ass". I will follow this up to Mr.Corbin
and use every means possible to remove you from this
"professional" message area. You are obviously not a mature
enough individual to handle the excitement here.

insult other members of Paranet? Please consider my request.

Ad hominem attacks are NOT allowed. If you accuse someone ( and
in this case I mean me.....so as not to confuse anyone ) of being
an "Army Intelligence type", and you should have said "MILITARY
INTELLIGENCE, NOT ARMY"
what is your proof.

Now had I said YOU WERE AN ASS, you would have a gripe, however I
said "pull your head out of your ass" what I meant was stop being
so gullible, think for yourself, and do some research, don't just
pull a Cooper or Bennett with empty accusations, slander, and
innuendo, but PROVE what you are saying.

Now if I insulted you, well as we used to say "Sin Loi".

Subject: Military deserters - GB
Date: 28 Jul 90 05:53:00 GMT

Local Radio talk show had on a couple (Vivian and Stan
Johnson of Tennesse) who are friends of Ken, one of the 6 soldiers
who went from germany to Gulf Breeze. He is the one who is 26
years old. THey have known him for a couple of years and he was
at their house for Christmas dinner in 1989. The apparently are
like a second set of parents to him. They met him when he came to
them to get some photos made of a model UFO. He had written a
sci-fi novel and wanted some UFO photos for it. He was "getting
into"
psychic things at that time and was looking for a psychic
that he could feel comfortable with. As these folks put it "he
was looking for one who would say what he wanted to hear."

Ken did not desert from Germany. He was over here on a short
term leave but failed to go back when his leave was up. He was
also into fundemental/UFO based religion beleiveing that Christ
arrived on a UFO. He beleived he was one of the few who was aware
of this Christ/UFO connection. These surrogate parents basically
told him that it was old news, that people had been speculating
along those lines for years. He had come across the "Cooper
Papers"
and apparently swallowed it hook, line, and sinker
believeing he was "in" on info that very few people were aware of.
His surrogate parents told him it was bogus info but he would hear
nothing other then what he wanted to believe.
He knew that there was going to be a big UFO meeting in Gulf
Breeze and went there in hopes of meeting his "hero" Bill Cooper.
He had trained at the Base at Pensecola and was familiar with the
area. He says that on Aug 1 there will be a big war break out,
that on Aug 5 there will be a big reorganization in the military,
and on Aug 6 a spaceship will come to Gulf Breeze for him and the
others to take them to an underground base in New Mexico. He
offered the Johnsons a seat on the spaceship.
IMHO, these 6 guys are one brick short of a full load, much like
their hero Bill Cooper. I don't find it terribly suprising that
the military would want to detain them for a while to try and find
out who all they have been talking to and what military secrets
they may have compromised. Having people like that with top
secret clearances is no joke.

RE: HAze to distance ratio
Yes John that makes a lot of sense. If you read some of the older
books that detail some of the older photo analysis techniques that were
used on some of the "Classic" cases you will find that they did a lot
of that sort of analysis. The Military analysts (photo) for one short
film spent MONTHS analyzing it. That was before the days of computers
and stuff. I'm not sure we haven't moved backwards in our analysis
techniques in some ways.

It seems to me that the GB "thing" has reached the point where if a VW
with Tennesse plates on it was to run out of gas at the same time as
it's radio stopped working it would somehow be tied in to the UFO

Its my understanding that the leader of the clique got a hold of one of
Cooper's files. Over there in Germany, Cooper is next-to-unheard-of, and so
this guy apparently thought he was on to something big and secret and nobody
knows and oooooooooooooo, this is hot! He shared it with his friends, and they
came to the US to meet with this great mountaintop guru who was going to blow
the lid off it all.

I can see how it all happened, and how it can be connected with Gulf Breeze,
without it being a significant development.

I don't find the story of them going to GB to see the anti-christ or
whatever strange at all. Consider this - these guys, by some accounts
were already turning into wacked out fundies over the last couple of
years. Put that together with their jobs in intelligence. Put that
together with their predictions of a war breaking out around Aug 1st.
In my estimation the likely scenerio is that they, like most fundies,
were looking for "
signs" that the "end" is at hand. There is not the
slightest doubt that the US had been tracking troop movements of the
Iraqies and knew weeks ago that they were planning something and had
pretty much figured out the timing. These guys got wind of the
intelligence estimates and thought "
wow, this could be it, the end is
at hand" and figured that they really didn't have to worry about being
deserters once the anti-christ or whatever landed. So, based on their
intelligence info they made a good prediction about the war. Since
that prediction was based on actual data it is likely that it will be
the only prediction that works out for them. I think that that is
pretty much what the military figured out after talking to them and
thats why they just cut them loose - not much reason to prosecute a
bunch of wackos when the important thing is to just get rid of them.

In an article of <3 Aug 90 03:16:33 GMT>, 'MAJ ROBERT FLURY'
<fluryr@gw1.hanscom.af.mil> writes:

>Subject: OUT THERE
>
>Has anyone read a book called 'OUT THERE: The Gov'ts Search for ET'
>by Howard Blum (Simon & Schuster, 1990)?

No, but in the September 1990 issue of Penthouse, an excerpt from the book
appears. The correct title is "
Out There: The Government's Secret Quest for
Extraterrestrials". Soon to be published by Simon & Schuster.

As Howard Blum says, while he was doing research on the Walker spy case, an
agent from the NSA mentioned a rumor about the gov't involvement with UFO's. At
the time Blum wasn't interested but after his book on the Walker's was
published this UFO rumor "
was resounding unexpectantly through my
consciousness."

In this article Blum mentions 2 gov't groups; Project Aquarius and the UFO
Working Group.

Aquarius, which I had heard of before, was an operation which employed people
called viewers. These viewers could see any part of the world through their
mind's eye, and report what they were seeing as it was actually happening. In
the article, a viewer was shown pictures of US and Soviet submarines and was
able to pinpoint them on the globe by giving their coordinates. In a closed
door session of intelligence and military people, one viewer was "
looking" at
a soviet sub and also saw a flying saucer directly above it.

One of the generals at this meeting was also involved in an incident where a
bogey entered earth space, performed "
impossible" manuevers then disappeared.
This general asked 3 viewers to look at this area of space and draw what was
there a few days ago. Each viewer was seperated from the other and each
sketched a flying saucer.

I'll be looking for the book.

Not sure its available yet, except to reviewers such as Phil Klass. Klass
tries to explode it in his latest SUN (Skeptics UFO Newsletter), by saying it
contained 25 factual errors in the chapter about _him_. Apparently Blum says
Klass is "
jaunty" and "pencil thin." "I've not been pencil-thin in 40 years,"
says Klass.

If that's the only thing Klass can find fault with (but of course it won't
be)....
