If you haven't already posted that last message of mine to the Paranet
newsletter list, here's another quote from my skunk-works correspondent
which you might like to add to it, otherwise just send this out to the
list. (of course, the info-para@scicom address for the Paranet
Newsletter may be an automatic gateway.)

------begin quote--------
Hey, here's another good AW&ST quote! I can't believe I missed this one!

'In addition, there is substantial evidence that another family of
craft exists that relies on exotic propulsion and aerodynamic schemes
not fully understood at this time' (AW&ST; 10/1/90; pg 20).

Date: 26 Aug 91 21:51:00 GMT

Roger has just told me that another circle was discovered in an area near the
first circle in Iowa. However, upon investigation, the second circle shows
signs of hoaxing. The stalks of corn were broken as if someone had taken a
rope and dragged it around the circle. The first circle continues to puzzle
investigators. We will be providing a full report shortly on the network. We
now have two corroborating witnesses to lights flying around the skies in the
immediate area of the circle.

Stay tuned...

Subject: Crop Circles - The Ickleton Mandelbrot
Date: 27 Aug 91 09:36:22 GMT

From: Robert Trevelyan <rob@aixssc.ibm.co.uk>

The Ickleton Mandelbrot
-----------------------

A strange formation appeared the night of August 11/12 in a
wheatfield on a hill top 10 miles south of Cambridge, England.
The was reported to be a heart-shaped formation but on closer
observation found it to be far more than any 'normal' crop
circle.

This new formation was in fact a Mandelbrot ! and was 100 yards
in length. A colleague of mine visited the site and confirmed
that the formation was in fact, as near as possible, a complete
Mandelbrot set. The large cartoid component was about 120ft across,
tangential to this was a circle of 47ft diameter and on top of this
again a 16ft circle. Attached to each side of the cardoid was three
smaller unequal circles, the size of each matching its partner on
the opposite side of the cartoid. Tiny circles also existed and
were attached to the outside of the centre ones and also on the
47ft circle. These tiny circles were as small as 16 inches and
were attached to the main body and mirrored about the central axis.
I have viewed a computer program that creates this Mandelbrot Set
and all circles and conponents were found to be exactly placed.

Presumed at first to be an elaborate hoax perpetrated by mathematic
students at Cambridge University this was denied by them. Each
circle was perfect and was swirled in a clockwise direction even
down to a single stalk in the centre of the cartoid. Ariel photographs
have been taken by my colleague but unfortunately on returning the
next day he found that the farmer had driven his combine harvester
straight through the formation destroying this fantastic work of art.
I understand that copies of these photos are on their way to
Benoit B. Mandelbrot, a research fellow at IBM Yorktown Heights, NY.
who from work with fractal geometry and the mathematical study of
forms having a fractional dimension has termed the Mandelbrot Set.
Fractal geometry is used in the study of chaos and also in the study
of growth patterns in the natural world.

For those of you that like the heavy stuff on Mandelbrot here it is:

From 'Scientific American' August 1985..

'The Mandelbrot set broods in silent complexity at the centre of a
vast two-dimensional sheet of numbers called the complex plane.
When a certain operation is applied repeatedly to the numbers, the
ones outside the set flee to infinity and the numbers inside remain
to drift or dance about. Close to the boundary minutely choreographed
wanderings mark the onset of instability. Here is an infinite regress
of detail which astonishes us with its variety, its complexity and
its strange beauty.'

This fantastic and unexplainable formation was feature with
a photograph in 26 August 1991 'Sunday Telegraph' and one can
see from the photograph that it really is very precise.
If anyone has a Mandelbrot computer graphics program I strongly
suggest that you run it and view the end result because it is so
similar to the Ickleton Mandelbrot its unreal.

For all you Tabloid Freaks who still lurk * Out There * and have not gotten
your FIX of ol' Mort *The Big Mouth* Downey Jr., Mort is coming back. How do I
know? Well, it seems that his producer saw yours truly on the rerun show of
Hard Copy with Marina Popovich, and want to do a UFO program for one of Mort's
first to air in October. For any of you who may not know who Downey is, several
years ago he had a real knock down, and drag em off program that made waves all
across the U. S. because of the brash and rude behaviour of the MC and most of
his guests. :-( Also, Downey was "regressed" by Dr. Jean Mundy, and
*believes* that he may have been abducted. ANYWAY..............

The producer assured me that what we have now is a "NEW AND INPROVED" Morton
Downey Jr. and they want me to debate Phil Klass. I jumped at the chance. If
any of you live close to LA and would like to attend, call me at UFO and I will
give you all the details and you can be in the audience. Let me know.

More to follow.

Don

PS The UFO number is (818) 951-1250.

Paul, if there are two copies available, I'd be interested in one as well.
As far as I know it was only published in hardcover, but a paperback would
be equally acceptable if there are such things...

Hi Paul,
Thanks for checking on "Messengers of Decption" for me; also, please
let me know what year it was written. The other Vallee book I want is
"Passport to Magonia." Dunno what year it came out, either.

Thanks!

Hi Don,
I'll be glad to tell you a abit about what MUFON wrote about Bob
Oechsler; it's a long piece, and I have a copy machine here at home,
and it won't cost me anything just to send you a copy of the article.
Furthermore, see some of the posts I've made to Peggy Noonan since
she also expressed an interest in Bob O. (I might have posted
something to her on <Fidonet> sssshh! that's a whisper.)

The review was conducted by Jerold R. Johnson, MUFON Continental
Coordinator for Central America. There are allegations of Bob O. mis-
representing himself by a Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, former director of
the National Security Agency. However most revealing, IMHO, were the
claims of Oechsler as a "NASA mission specialist and project engineer".
I have seen this claim in the UFO UNIVERSE Magazine as well as in the
1989 MUFON Proceedings of the symposium held in Las Vegas. (Jim
Speiser
told me he went to that conference and heard Bob speak and
thought the guy was a phony. Perhaps Jim will comment as well....)

The author of this article contacted Goddard Spaceflight Center to
check on Bob's employment. He writes:

"I checked with Personnel Management," says a Ms. Randy Exler in
the Public Affaris Office, "and our records only go back 10 years.
Robert L. Oechsler is not known in the currecnt records. He could have
worked here for a contractor, in which case we would not have record of
him in any case. The title 'mission specialist' is not something that
is used around here; that's a title that NASA gives to an astronaut!"

(This was a quote of a conversation that the article author had
with a lady at Goddard.)

There's more. Bob apparently ran away and joined the Ringling Bros.
and Barnum & Bailey International Organization, and as Bob tells it,
from eaqrly NOv. 1989 thru late Jan. 1990, worked for them in getting
actual captured alien spacecraft and an "alien/ET corpse in a cryogenic
tank"
for use in a proposed travelling public exhibition.

Don, there's another whole page dedicated to Bob's pranks and
claims, and I'll be happy to mail you everthing, or anyone else out
there who requests a copy.

Regards,

Linda Bird

Hi John,

The UFO conference in Fla. had a poor turn-out? That's too bad.
In my opinion, they should have held it sooner (school has just begun
in this state); they should have chosen another location (more central
for the rest of us); more advertising (altho for some reason I got a
flyer); a little less expensive (can result in bigiger turn-outs).

Thanks for the report!

Hi C.R.

I'm just a humble person who know little about aviation beyond the
Cessna 172. Are these aircraft you mentioned going to be used in
exploration, or in military combat?

Some of the remarks seem to be made with some "tongue in cheek:
humor; i.e. "
some of these planes are almost alien in design" or words
to that effect.

Keep posting!

I'm not a hunter but if the cow was dead and you followed the
procedures that I understand are used to drain blood from say a deer,
you would have to hang the cow upside down and slit it's throat
(jugular) to drain it. If it was still alive then I suppose you could
put an IV in if you knew how but that would be fairly slow and unless
you were a vet I doubt you could find a vein, not to mention poking a
needle thru cowhide. As to removing the organs, I think that would
also be difficult unless you knew what you were doing. I remain
unconvinced that it isn't just scavenging by animals. It seems that
UFO buffs try to connect anything and everything that lacks a full
explaination to UFO's. Some tried to claim that most of the mysterious
deaths and disappearances of people were UFO abductions. Well, we have
seen the Results of one Jeffery Dahmer and how many more are out their
who won't get caught?? It turns out that if you have no motive for
killing someone it is very easy to get away with it.

Cattle Mute. is an interesting question. Here we have evidence of something
happening and don't know why or how. Just for interest sake a bit of
information. A knife made from stone (obsidian for a prime example) is
sharper that the best surgical steel used in hospitals today. Good flint
impliments can have thickness down to microns, along with the natural
serrations. If someone is using "
crude" tools, they can make better, sharper
cuts than we would get in the hospital.

If anyone has doubts about this information, I will supply assorted
archaeological research sources.

It could be part of the puzzle pieces.

Considering that at first they wanted to charge $50 a *day*, and

Why is it when new people attempt something..they have to create
exorbitant prices to go along with it (thinking aloud...)

Too bad I missed Jorge Martin, but I'm glad I caught Wendelle

Yeah, that's absolutely for sure. The almost-total lack of advertising
didn't help much either.

Those guys were trying to raise as much money as possible for the museum, I
think. They probably would have packed the house at $50 a head for the whole
thing. Problem is they eventually did that but didn't tell anyone.

Yeah. I keep coming back to what Tesla said about "
hearing" electrical
(really scalar) activity. About sound, light, and EM radiation being "
all
the same thing". He made this statement in the early 20s and it got him
branded a Grade-A looney by the scientific establishment.

I wonder if accidents of birth or actual injuries can endow humans with
capabilities similar to your hypothetical psychic dog. Tesla claimed that
he could "
hear" his EM radiation...
