The Lanzhou Stone: is the Lanzhou stone an ammonite fossil that resemble a metallic screw?

The "Lanzhou Morning News" of June 26, 2002 reported the news of a curious discovery which occurred in the mountainous region of Marzong, China, by a certain Mr. Wang Zhilin. The man discovered a rock formation, shaped like a pear, measuring approximately 6 cm x 8 cm and weighing 466 grams. The rock was made by an extremely hard material.

Incredibly, the rock is of a totally unknown type, suggesting that it may be of meteorite origin. Inside was found a threaded metal bar, the origin of which is completely unknown.

The stone has attracted the attention of geologists and collectors from all over the world, and the interest of many researchers, especially due to its unusual content.

Thus wrote the Lanzhou Morning News:

More than 10 geologists and global physicists from the National Land Resources Bureau of Gansu Province, Colored Metal Survey Bureau of Gansu Province, the Institute of Geology and Minerals Research of China Academy, Lanzhou Branch, and the School of Resources and Environment of Lanzhou College gathered to study the origin of this mysterious stone.

After a discussion about its possibility of being man-made and the possible reasons for its formation, the scientists unanimously labeled the stone as one of the most valuable objects in China and in the world for collection, research, and Archeological studies.

The researchers proposed many hypotheses to justify the natural origin of the stone and all seemed incredible! The threaded metal bar inside it is tightly enclosed in the material, suggesting a precise reason for its creation, but completely unknown to scientists.

Has been also advanced the possibility that the stone is a relic of a prehistoric civilization, to the point of supporting the thesis that a civilization similar to ours existed in a remote period on our planet. There are also those who have gone so far as to hypothesize that the object is extraterrestrial and that it could contain information from an alien civilization.

Further research is needed to understand how the stone was formed and whether the metal bar inside it is really metal, whether it was placed in it by someone and whether we want to find out if the object really comes from outer space.

Unfortunately ... the current location of the stone is unknown!
