1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk
For the Matcha Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha green tea powder.
In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until well combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
For the Matcha Cream Cheese Frosting:
In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and matcha green tea powder, beating until creamy and well combined.
Beat in the vanilla extract until smooth.
Pipe or spread the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes.
