Siberia's Domed Structures: Ancient Extraterrestrial Defense System?

Mysterious structures are reported in the legends of the Siberian population and in the diaries of the first explorers of Russia's Far East. Those who have lived in these domes report hair loss and strange burns on their bodies. According to some, it is a defense system that may have also destroyed the Chelyabinsk meteorite in February 2013.

The Republic of Yakutia (also known as Yakutia or Sakha), is located in northeastern Russia (Siberia) south of the Arctic tundra in Russia and is known as the coldest inhabited place on planet Earth.

It is here that the Siberian taiga is found, a vast stretch of predominantly arid coniferous forest, completely uncontaminated and unexplored like the Amazon jungle, and which extends over uninhabited territory for more than 100 thousand square kilometers in the western part of Yakutia.

Without any type of road, the territory is largely covered by dense forest, with numerous uprooted trees, vast swamps and significant swarms of mosquitoes. Practically, the ideal scenario for the setting of myths and legends about strange creatures and mysterious facts.

It is precisely in these lands that, according to local stories, dwells the Chuchuna, the humanoid creature also known as Yeti or Big Foot. But there is a more fascinating mystery surrounding Death Valley.

Near the upper basin of the Viliuy river, there is a difficult to reach area that bears the signs of a terrible cataclysm that occurred about 800 years ago and which uprooted almost the entire forest, scattering fragments of rock over hundreds of square kilometers.

The ancient name of this area is Uliuiu Cherkechekh, which translates, in fact, as Death Valley, given that for the locals, anyone who ventures into this area can hardly make it out alive.

According to the stories of local inhabitants, the entire area would be full of strange and unnatural dome-shaped metallic structures, located deep in the permafrost and detectable on the surface due to their color visibly contrasting with the natural vegetation.

Lone nomadic hunters described the domes as large iron houses (kheldyu) set in the perpetually frozen ground. They appear to be made of a metal similar to copper in appearance but, unlike copper, it cannot be scratched or damaged. No one has ever been able to cut even a fragment.

Some of these boilers – the shape would resemble that of an upside-down pot – have an opening on the top, with a spiral staircase leading up to a circular gallery with several internal chambers. Despite the 40° degrees outside, hunters say that the interiors are pleasantly warm.

Local elders call the enigmatic structures olgius, but are unaware of their origin. Legends trace their construction to the taiga demons, Niurgun Bootur and Tong Duurai.

Furthermore, they know very well how dangerous it is to get close to metal structures. In fact, some of the effects that the boilers have on the surrounding vegetation and on the bodies of people who have stayed near them for too long are reported.

Some stories tell of some daring hunters who spent the night in these metal rooms, using them as refuge. Once back among their people, the hunters seemed to have contracted a strange disease, and those who spent more than one night there soon died. For this reason, local tribal elders have declared these areas cursed, and therefore forbidden.

Recent stories

There are stories of travelers who have ventured into Death Valley, coming across the mysterious domes. In ancient times, the area was part of a route used by the nomadic Evenk people, who started from Bodaybo to the coast of the Laptev Sea and the existence of the cursed domes was known only to them.

The first indirect testimony of the domes dates back to 1853, when Richard Maack, the well-known Russian explorer, anthropologist and geographer, one of the first to venture into distant eastern Russia and Siberia, reports in his accounts:

At Suntar, a Yakut settlement I was told that in the upper reaches of the Viliuy River lies a huge metal dome sunk into the ground. […] Its size is unknown as only the circle emerging from the ground is visible.

Something similar was stated in 1989 by D. Arkhipov, an anthropologist expert in Yakut culture:

Among the population of the Viliuy basin there is a legend that dates back to ancient times and which tells of the existence, in the upper part of that river, of enormous bronze domes or olguis.

In 1936, along the Olguidakh River (meaning place of the cauldron), a geologist commissioned by indigenous elders came across what had the entire area of being a huge dome of smooth metal, reddish in color, protruding from the ground and with a edge so sharp that it cuts paper. The walls of the object were about two centimeters thick and, according to the official report, it was possible to see the inside of the dome through a hole in the back.

In 1979 an archaeological expedition that started from Yakutsk tried to locate the place described by the geologist, but the changes in the territory and vegetation that occurred in more than forty years did not allow the mysterious object to be found. Furthermore, as the locals explain, given the dense vegetation in the forest, you can pass within 3 meters of something without even noticing it.

Among the most accurate accounts is that of Mikhail Korecky from Vladivostok, who in 1996 sent a letter to the newspaper Trud where he claimed to have been to Death Valley three times.

The first was in 1933, when he was 10 years old; the second in 1937 and finally in 1947 with some friends. Korecky claimed to have identified seven domes between 6 and 9 meters in diameter.

On their last visit to the domes, Korecky and his friends spent the night in one of them. Although nothing special happened that night, in the following days one of his companions found himself losing almost all his hair, while Korecky developed two small pustules on his cheek that never healed.

In 1971, an old Evenk hunter claimed to have found an iron den in the ground, inside which he noticed the bodies of strange one-eyed beings, dressed in some sort of iron costume. Although he was available to accompany anyone who wanted to visit the mysterious site, none of the authorities wanted to believe his story.

Strange phenomena in Death Valley

The Yakuy legends of Death Valley contain many references to explosions, tornadoes, and flaming fireballs swirling through the air.

And all these phenomena, one way or another, are connected with the mysterious metal structures found in the valley. It is said that, at the beginning of the last century, a glowing ball of fire was seen emerging from the main hole of one of the domes and rising upwards in the form of a thin column of fire.

The phenomenon was accompanied by a dull roar, similar to the sound recorded during nuclear explosions. After reaching a considerable height, the glowing sphere flew away, leaving behind it a long “trail of smoke and fire”. Russian ufologists have proposed two theories about the Death Valley domes.

The first hypothesis is that the domes could be the wreckage of an ancient spaceship destroyed in an accident or air battle. The second hypothesis, put forward by the Russian researcher Valery Uvarov, is decidedly more intriguing and states that the mysterious domes of Siberia could be an ancient weapon built by extraterrestrials to protect our planet from any external dangers, such as meteorites or hostile alien forces.

The defense system, composed of numerous underground domes, would be connected to a power plant built deep underground and capable of operating automatically, protecting the Earth from cosmic threats.

Uvarov is convinced that the extraterrestrial defense system has come into operation three times in the last hundred years: in 1908 by shooting down the famous Tunguska meteorite; in 1984 by destroying the Chulym bolide, which penetrated the atmosphere to a height of about 100 kilometers and, more recently, the Vitim meteorite in 2002.

When Uvarov put forward this hypothesis a few years ago, he also reported a significant increase in radiation levels in the area and the progressive abandonment of wildlife forests in the Death Valley area, giving the Russian researcher the impression that the system was preparing to avert an imminent threat.

With hindsight and in light of the near meteorite impact recorded on 14 February 2013 over the skies of central Russia, over the Urals, some hypothesize that the system came into operation a fourth time, so as to avoid an impact that could have been catastrophic: did something destroy the meteorite that was about to hit the Urals?

A new expedition would confirm the existence of the domes

A team of Russian scientists and explorers returned from Death Valley claiming to have found evidence of at least five metal domes. “We went to Death Valley to investigate and understand if the metal domes described by many testimonies really exist. Indeed, we found five metallic objects buried in the swamps,” said the lead scientist of the team, Michale Visok, who described the following characteristics of the objects:

  1. Each object is immersed in a small marshy pool 2-3 meters deep;
  2. The objects are definitely metal;
  3. The tops of the objects are very smooth to the touch, but there are very sharp protrusions at the outer edges;
  4. Two team members became seriously ill during the exploration;
  5. The research team is composed of 3 geologists, 1 astrophysicist, 1 engineer and 3 research assistants.

When asked what the team thinks they have discovered and whether it could be something built by Ancient Astronauts, Visok refused to comment. “There is definitely something strange out there, but we have no idea what it is or what it was used for,” the Russian scientist simply said.
