The Adventure Begins

You have woken up in the middle of a nightmare in which you saw a cat crossing Heliopolis to meet you in front of a house entrance. A messenger interrupted your sleep and delivered a letter from your adoptive father; DJEHOUTY is ill and asks you to come to his bedside. Before leaving, you need to take both the book of medicine and the eye ointment.

Upon arriving in Heliopolis, you meet your neighbor IDI, who gives you a map of the city and reminds you where your house is. Remember that the door is yellow. You reunite with your father. You examine him and realize that you don’t know of any disease with the same symptoms.

Head to the temple library to research the medical archives. The door to the HOUSE OF LIFE, which leads to the library, is guarded by KEFREN. By order of the GREAT SEER, access is restricted. To enter, you must pass the test: starting from the top left, place the chair-shaped stone in profile, the goose, and the lions; in the second row, starting from the left, place the stone with the tower, the cow, and the pillar; in the third row, position the bird and the jackal.

After passing the test, speak with IROU, who will ask you to bring him writing materials that you will find in the classroom to your left. Take the "box with the pen," bring it to Irou, but he will also ask for ink. Return to the classroom and get it.

Go back to the library, open one of the niches on your left, and take the medical papyri. Bring them to Djehouty. On your way home, you will encounter other sick people. Examine IPOUKY and then give him the eye ointment. Your father will examine the tablet and ask you to inform MARYRE, the great seer.

Return to the temple, where Kefren will ask for a letter of recommendation. Go back to your father and have him write the letter; to do this, you will need to bring him the materials found in the room on the ground floor. Here, you should also take the gold ring on the stool.

Djehouty will write the letter, and you can return to the temple, where you will need to speak with the great seer. He will tell you to find HETEP's report and examine the condition of the grain. Go to the grain silos, take a plank located near the first silo, proceed and take the rope found near a palm tree.

Hetep's House

Speak with MEHOU, who will tell you where Hetep's house is and that you can examine a silo if you wish. Examine the silo; to descend, you will need to use the rope and the plank together and place them on the silo. Once at the bottom, take an ear of grain, then climb back up and return to the neighborhood.

Go to Hetep's house and take the mirror and the seal. Return to the temple and go to the library, where you need to search for the report in the niches on the right. To enter, show the jewel. In the library, you will find Hetep's strap, which you should take, then go to the great seer in the school and give him the ear of grain.

The seer will order you to find a cure. At this point, return to your father, who has since worsened, take the tablet and bring it to the scribe in the school. He will tell you that you need to find a way to read it. To do this, use the ink and the blank papyrus and place them on the tablet.

The Cure

Return to your father, who will tell you that you need to visit the chapel of SAKLRMET. Go back to the temple, go to the chapel where there is a cavity. Place the mirror there, exit, and go through the two open doors. Enter one of the rooms, ask Irou for the mallet, return to the chapel, and take the mallet to tap on the small square on the wall to your left.

At some point, the stone will fall, and Ra's rays will move the statue. Take the papyrus and go to the merchants. Stop at the first stall and ask for willow leaves and olive oil. Go to the second stall where you should ask for copper and give the bracelet in exchange.

Return to the second stall, take the willow leaves, and give the dates in exchange; take the oil and give the copper. Go to the stall near the port, ask for the mandrake root and trade it for the linseed oil. To get the garlic, give the lentils; ask for the fan tree leaves.

Turn the corner; the first door on your left is the BEER HOUSE; open it, enter, and ask for honey. In exchange, you don’t need to give the willow leaves, but go to the temple warehouses. Get the honey from Irou and give him the ring; in the room, you will also find bean flour, cumin, and juniper seeds—take everything.

Return to your father’s house, and in the room on the ground floor, put the ingredients into the cauldron to make the cure for diarrhea. Take the medicine to the merchant located in the dead-end alley to your left before the second stall. Return to the beer house, get the beer, and give the honey, then talk to the NUBIAN.

When you arrive at the Governor's villa, say the phrase to the second guard: "Are you a real warrior?", then: "You seem like a good..." etc. Enter the house, go find the musician in the gardens; you will find her in the small temple. Take the drum and return inside the villa. Pay attention at this point! Beat the rhythm precisely, or you won’t be able to proceed.

Speak with the GOVERNOR, go to his room, and search for Hetep’s report. In the underground area where you will wake up after being drugged, look for the pickaxe and the ladder; use the pickaxe to strike the stone where the black cat is: you will find the exit.

Return to the neighborhood; the Nubian will tell you that your father has died and will show you where he left the fan tree leaves; take them and place the ingredients in the cauldron in this order: WILLOW LEAVES, MANDRAKE ROOT, GARLIC, OLIVE OIL, FAN TREE LEAVES, and finally BEER.

Pour the beer in the following order:

  • Large into Small,
  • Large into Medium,
  • Small into Large,
  • Medium into Small,
  • Large into Medium,
  • Small into Large,
  • Medium into Small,
  • Small into Large,
  • Medium into Small,
  • Large into Medium, and
  • Medium into Large.

The Governor's Villa

Give the cure to MI, then go to the Great Seer who is in the school. Give him the medicine and return to the neighborhood. The Nubian will give you advice on how to enter the villa: approach the guard, but be careful not to wake him (leave the key beside him for now; you'll take it later).

Enter the first door on your right, head towards the door where the geese are. Combine the grain with the sleeping potion and throw the soporific grain to the geese.

Enter the villa and cross the ballroom. At the end, there are two open doors; head towards the one on your right, but don't get too close. Wait for the guard to pass in front of the door and move towards the other door, then go through the door and turn right: this will bring you to the governor's room.

Open the niche on your left and move the statue that opens the niche on your right, where Hetep's report is located. Take it and leave, being very careful to avoid the guard.
Return to the garden, where you will find a closed door.

Take the pebbles and throw them at the geese to wake them up (be very careful to position yourself correctly); the guard will be distracted, giving you time to take the key you saw next to the sleeping guard when you first entered.

Once you have the key, go and open the door. Return to the neighborhood, speak with the Nubian, then go to the temple in the Silos room and speak with the Great Seer.

You have finally succeeded in your quest!
