by Bill Keller FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE OCTOBER 14, 1993 In an amazing court case involving the "income tax" a Chattanooga jury agreed with the argument by the defendant that the "Income tax" is actually an EXCISE TAX and only applies to certain classes of people. Nationally prominent attorney Lowell Becraft of Huntsville, Alabama, assisted by attorney Russell J. Leonard of Sewanee, Tennessee, defended Lloyd R. Long of Decherd, Tennessee, who was charged by the Internal Revenue Service with willful failure to file income tax returns for the years 1989 and 1990. In presenting the case for the Internal Revenue Service, a...

Well, as some of you know for the past 2 or so months I have been homeless\Houseless\A Bum\etc.... I was living in a field that some of the other homeless folks in the area called "the Homeless Camp." Actually it was a large open field. We were living, and sleeping, in the bushes behind the trees. Next thing I have to tell you is what area I am in. I live in southern California, Huntington Beach, to be exact. The homeless population in this area consists of about 50 to 100 people, Over 45% of these people were living in our "Camp." In the beginning of March, Huntington Beach Police Department began to go back to camp and hassle the "tenan...

And Now for a Special word from our friendly neighborhood NAZIS at netcom NETCOMS CENSORSHIP POLICY : This appeared in My E-mail at netcom a few weeks ago and I thought it was something people who are looking for a internet server should read... It is not NETCOM's policy to censor messages posted by NETCOM customers to NETCOM newsgroups or any newsgroups. It is however the case however that if a customer posts a message critical of NETCOM to a Netcom forum, NETCOM may try to call and intimidate the poster from writing any more critical comments to the public forums. In this particular instance, there was a critical post about NetCruis...

by Scott Dunn On July 13 th , two US Marshals agents came to his house. They did not knock or announce themselves. They forced open the back door and stormed in. They grabbed Sal, wrestled him to the floor, tied him up and took him away. All in front of an 11 year old child, and Sal's brother, Nick. No warrant, no badge, and no warning. They did not show him a signed warrant until after he was in jail. When they brought him before a judge, he asked the judge if signing a bond would grant the court jurisdiction: affirmative. Sal would not sign a bond. As a result, he spent six days in solitary confinement, no books, not much food and n...

Appeared in the Orange County Register Eldon Griffiths LONDON - With Heidi Fleiss, the reborn underwear saleslady, due to be tried Aug. 22 for running a Beverly Hills brothel, and O.J. Simpson's trial scheduled to go before a jury, if an impartial one can be found, Sept. 20, the U.S. Congress was well advised to squeeze its hearings on the conduct of the president of the United States into the dying days before it goes into recess Aug. 12. I caught only a few hours of Lloyd Cutler (live) as he sought to portray Bill Clinton as a latter-day King Lear, "more sinned against than sinning." I then left Orange County for Britain where White...

brought to ya from deep in tha third woild by pHaze Tomorrow is 'Sharpeville Day' and the University of Cape Town is closed - so I get the day off and have the time to write this. Well, that's from my point of view anyway - a practical one. Of course the reason the University is closed is an emotional one - because there are going to be allot of emotions flowing tomorrow, and the 'crowd animal' will cause damage as usual. My first introduction to this animal was at the release of Nelson Mandela. Shops were looted and rubber bullets were flying. I used to think the same way as most other white South Africans; "Well the ...

written by Arclight 8/20/94 With all of the hype over the "Information Superhighway" and coverage of things such as the "New" Internet, the media is beginning to focus more and more on hackers as a threat to this "new era of connectivity." With biased, exaggerated, and often false portrayals of those in the hacker community, the television and printed media have painted an ugly picture of the hacker element. In the past two months, I have collected not less than five sensational computer-crime stories aired by local television stations in the L.A. area. Topics ranged from Cellphone hacking, to ATM fraud, with little more being sta...

DnA 9-14: How Free is Free Speech?

by: ·lue ·alls The question about limitations on rights seems to always arise...therefore it is no surprise that I bring up a rather old question and come up with some new answers. Free speech has always been a right that Americans were proud of, something that all humans should have, being the right to say anything without the fear of persecution. Unfortunately even in the U.S. there are limitations or restrictions that blatantly conflict with freedom of speech. In the U.S. Bill of Rights it clearly states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the ...

Welcome back to DNA magazine! We've been out of publication for quite a few months now, and I've had plenty of time to write *really* long articles on my favorite subjects. I've decided to write this article in hopes that some of our readers will try and learn more about a very powerful and rewarding language. I of course am speaking of assembly language. Assembly is a very difficult language to grasp, but one which is very rewarding to the programmer who understands it. Knowledge of assembly language will give you a lot more insight into how upper level languages handle different situations. This knowledge will help you make ...
