ok, since i'm a sysop and run renegade... i was a little worried about the
%un %ln thing that can be used to lock up any rg board... well... that is no
longer the case... i figured out why it works... so now i know how you can
beat it... it's really quite simple to beat.. after a new user has logged on
and filled out all the new user info crap, they are sent to the newinfo menu
which shows them all the info that they enter... well this is where it fucked
up... the menu displays a file called newinfo.asc which is stored in your
\rg\misc dir... here is what the file looks like...
this is the problem right here, there is already a %un... so that's what
| fucks it up

the solution is to take all that mci garbage outta there... that way the mci
code doesn't try to display the same mci code which is what causes it to
lock up... change you newinfo.asc to look like this....

this is the one from my board... it appears to solve the problem... you could
also just delete newinfo.asc and then they'd just see the menu commands which
is basically the same thing that i did here... *note - i change it so that
it uses numbers instead of letters to invoke the commands... that is not
nescessary... i just like it better that way.. anyways... that's it for
rg security for this pack... maybe i'll share some more of my secrets in the
next pak...
