  t311net bbs is a system, that from the first visit i did, caught my 
  attention. not because it's a bbs with the "coolest" ansi graphics, nor 
  because it has tons of files, nor because it has too many echonets etc... 
  but because it has all of them, in a balanced way and also some tricks on 
  its sleeves ;) 

  t311net, has some custom graphics made by the sysop himself gDm/GngrDr3dM4n. 
  all the graphics and menus may be simple, but it's obvious that the sysop 
  did give his attention to them. the bbs, it may seem like a default mystic 
  bbs board, but it's not. the sysop did customized many aspects of the board 
  and gave his unique character on it. it doesn't matter if it hasn't the 
  "coolest" from some ansi artist. for me t311net bbs is a terrific example, 
  on how you can make a good bbs, with not adding too much stuff, specially 
  ansi screens. 

  from what is shows gDm knows how to draw some really cool ascii screens! 
  simple but not simple! :) he uses lower ascii chars, which give a unique 
  style to the whole board. he doesn't mix ascii/ansi styles, he stays with 
  one and does a good job. you can really get the feeling of the bbs from the 
  very first screen and you know what to expect until the end/logout ;)

  in this scrolling ascii art, he puts the header in the end of the scrolly 
  and the screen seems ilke scrolling into the menu. gDm uses this in almost 
  every menu and it's a very nice effect.

  the same looks are in every menu and things are consistent. the system may 
  seem simple, but except the art you all ready have seen, it has a collection 
  of features/mods, here and there, that add up to the system.

  overall it's a very well balanced board, that describes in the best way, 
  what i was explaining about the "feel of a bbs" in a previous issue. 

  you don't have to be an ansi artist to make a board "cool". with simple 
  things, some tricks here and there and a lot of work, a sysop can acomplish 
  to make a nice bbs, with no cost and lots of fun!
