Subject: SC1224 Sound Output Level.
The following inspection should be carried out on SC1224 colour monitors that have a low sound output:-
1. Partially remove the plastic covering of the 13-pin DIN connector attached to the computer end of the moniter cable.Provision has been made for this in the coverings design.
2. Examine the wiring and locate the wire connected to pin 5 of the 13-Pin connector. In most cases this wire will be coloured yellow.
3. Carefully remove the connection socket from pin 5 and insulate it so as to prevent it from short circuiting on the earthed connector shell.
DO NOT DISLOCATE ANY OTHER CONNECTION FROM ITS PIN AS IT MAY BE VERY DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE WERE TO REPLACE IT !!.
4. Re-locate the plastic covering.
