Zunächst die Wachteleier mit einem Messer aufschlagen, so wie man ein Hühnerei köpft. Man sollte zuerst mehrere Wachteleier in einem kleinen Gefäß öffnen, statt jedes Ei einzeln in die Pfanne zu geben. Dann die Eier gemeinsam und vorsichtig in die vorbereitete Pfanne geben. So erhält man ein schönes großes Spiegelei mit mehreren Dottern.
