In August, in Montreal, the fourth annual Amiga Convention
will take place! This convention will gather the Amiga
community together from all across the world to show its
support for the Amiga! We hope to make this show an event
in the long fight to make the Amiga a well known computer
in North America again.
WHY: We are putting on the Amiga Convention '96 (AC 96) to
support our favorite computer, the Amiga! We feel
that for too long, the Amiga has been ignored, and now
that the Amiga is owned by people who actually will
support it well, we want to help them out in any way
we can.
We also want to get a lot of people together to have
a really cool time!

subway, as well as having lots of parking
space in the vicinity for cars.
WHY DEALERS SHOULD COME: At AC'96, we offer tables at an

includes electrical outlets and

chance to show and sell your
wares to a crowd of Amiga owners,
all of whom have money to spend
and are influenced by how big a
prescence you have at the show.

HOW TO GET TO THE PARTY PLACE:
- Place is located about 6km north of Jyväskylä.
- If you come with your car, just find the E4-road going
north from Jyväskylä, after 10 minutes joyride you see
a sign pointing to right saying "PALOKKA 1". Turn here
and drive 1 kilometer of straight road and turn right,
drive 600 meters, and turn right again,
drive 200 meters and the school is on the right.
- If you come to Jyväskylä by train/buss, hop on a local
buss no 27, and after abrox. 15 minutes ride you reach
Palokka.
GENERAL COMPO RULES:

- Atleast one of the authors of a competiting product has
to be present at the party place in order to attend the
competitions and to receive possible prizes.
- In solo competitions (music & graphics) the author has
to be present.
- The demos/intros will have to run without ANY user
interaction once started (although there can be a setup
screen).
- The filenames of the products must be standart 8+3
characters.
- All contributions must be delivered before deadline.
Bugfixes, problems with bad disk, etc. may be solved
after deadline.
- All contributions must be free to spread.
- All the damages to the party place will be paid from
the price-money, so it's best for everybody that no
demolished toilets or painted walls appear during the

Why In Koeping??
-----------------------------------------------------------
Koeping is a small town in the middle of Sweden. With car it
only takes 30 minutes from Västerås and oerebro, and less
than two hours from Stockholm. Koeping is also connected to
one large European road so there is no problem finding the
way to the party.
Go By Car
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you travel from Stockholm; The north way: follow E18
through Västerås to Koeping. The south way; follow E20
through Strängnäs, and Eskilstuna. Turn towards Kungsoer,
and then towards Koeping. From oerebro; Go towards Arboga,
and from there take E18 towards Koeping Once you're in
Koeping follow the signs saying Hospital (You know the
symbol: A red cross). The Hospital lies on a street called
"Glasgatan". And when you're at the Hospital just cross the
street and you're there. We will also put out signs, so
there'll be no problem finding the party (but if you still
can't find the place; ask some nice guy or girl where the
hospital is, or where KMV is :-).
Go by train
-----------------------------------------------------------
Well I must admit that I never travel by train so I can't
describe how to get to Koeping by one of those, but there's
no problem because when you buy the ticket they will tell
you where to change train and other important (?) things.
When you've got of the train at Koepings station just cross
the street and walk along "Glasgatan" tha party place is on
the left side of the street. We will put out signs where
the entrance is. The best thing is, there's only about 100
meters from the station to the party place.
Go by Bus
-----------------------------------------------------------
All busses stops right at the party place, so when you're
getting on the bus just take a chat with the busdriver, and
ask him to tell you when you're there. Remember to ask for
"glasgatan". we have signs so you can't miss the place, but
if you miss it, just ask someone where glasgatan is....
Partyrules

1. The partyplace is a non-smoking area, so if you want to
take any of these cancer-sticks, it'll have to be
outside the building (Sorry..)
2. You're allowed drinking alcohol at the party (Yeeehaaa!)
but if you don't want to be thrown out, take it easy
with the booozzze!
3. We don't want to see anyone just trying to destroy for
everyone. So if you consider yourself a troublemaker:
Stay at home !!
4. All thieves of all kinds will be handed over to the
local police. And you must admit: How fun is it losing
a SEK 15,000 computer?
5. Copyright material is of course not allowed to copy, and
each and everyone are responsible of their own actions.
- To make sure these rules are followed, we have a whole
bunch of trained guards making all they can to make the
party work all right.

After the great success of SYMPOSIUM`96 we offer you the
chance to visit germany`s best party again and to make it
to one of the best parties during 97 !
- We are not going to promise you MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for
winning the music compo.
- We are not going to promise you GIGA-BYTES of releases.
- We are not going to promise you 10000m*m BIG SCREENS.
- We are not going to promise you a RAVE-PARTY in the
SLEEPING-HALL (we are not going to make rave-parties in
sleeping-halls at all..!)

The Summer Party 1996
---------------------
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to a brand new party, THE SUMMER PARTY 1996.
Though this party is new, it's still an event you don't
wanna miss.
The Summer Party 1996 combines the big events of The Party
1995 and the relaxed compact atmosphere of the good old
parties.
WHERE AND WHEN
The summer party 1996 will be held in the center of
Aalborg, the biggest city in the northern part of Denmark,
where you walk to the nearest McDonald, Burger King and
shopping center in under 5 minutes.
The party place is located right beside the railway-station
and the bus-station. If you travel by car, there is a big
parking place and if you want to unwind you can dase in the
sun in the park right beside the party place. The Summer
party begins the 12th of juli at 08:00 and ends the 14th
of juli at 15:00, but if you want to spend some extra time
with your friends feel free to arrive the night before.
FACILITIES
Room for more than 3000 guests.
Free private showers.
Free parking.
Demo, wild, intro, music, graphics, games and surprise
competitions.
Computer exhibition, with local and international computer-
companies.
Concerts.
Network, where demos etc. will be available right after the
competitions.
Internet access featuring irc, ftp & www.
Laserdisc & surround movie-demo room.
10 x 8 meter big screen, using the newest projector
available.
Powerfull sound equipment, that will blow your brain out.
TV monitors, so you can follow the events all over the
party place.
Conferences.
Quiet sleeping space, no more techno :-)
EVENTS
More than 50 hours non-stop activities.
11 main compos.
Computergame competitions.
Bodycrashing, DiskOS, HarddiskOS.
Netsufring compo.
Live concerts on stage.
Magic Card tournament.
Conferences with Escom about the Amiga, software houses,
etc.
ENTRANCE FEE
Due to a few more sponsors we are able to lower the
entrance fee to DKK 175,- if you pay when you arrive.
But if you buy your tickets in advance either directly from
The Party or, if you are living in Denmark, at the local
postoffice through billetnet, the price will be DKK 150,-
Due to overbooking of tables and seats there will be a
reservation fee of DKK 15,- pr. seat at the entrance, but
if you pay in advance directly to The Party, then the fee
will only be DKK 10,-
Please note that all seat reservations will only be valid
until 14.00 on the 12th of july.
Do also note that if you pay in advance, you will be able
to walk straight into the party place without waiting at
the registration line.
PLEASE NOTE
We will not accept anybody selling food, disks, services
etc. without our permission.
Alcohol and drugs are not allowed inside the partyplace. If
found, it will be confiscated and NOT given back.
Intoxicated people will be thrown out or handed over to the
police. This goes for both alcohol as well as drugs.
We will not accept any racist signs or acting, weapons,
spraycans or firework etc.
People who cause damages of any kind will ofcourse have to
pay for it.
We take no responsibility for illegal swapping, or sale of
software, hardware, video etc.
We have made an agreement with the danish anti-priacy
organization that they will not bust the party, but instead
host a conference on software piracy.
All demo's etc. from The Party since 1992 are available at
our web site and at The Summer Party 1996, both on the net
and a few hours after the last deadline on CD which will
also include the demo's etc. from The Summer Party 1996.
As a lot of people thinks The Party is a profit party, we
have decided to make the economy of The Party public and
all of it will be available on the web-pages a few days
after The Summer Party 1996 has ended.

GENERAL RULES
All contributions must be delivered at The Information
before deadline. Bugfixes, problems with bad disk, etc. may
be solved after deadline, as long as the contribution has
not been changed in any way.
The deadlines are final and will not be moved.
If you want to take part in a competition you must be
present at The Party.
If too many contributions are delivered for a competition a
competent jury, selected among the guests will make a
selection.
All contributions can only participate in one competition.
All contributions must be free to spread.

Must run on a 486 DX2/66 MHz with 8 Mb ram.
Will be shown on a Pentium 100 MHz with 16 Mb ram.
SVGA by VESA 2.0 Support.
Soundblaster16 or Gus Max.
Software configuration:
The demo must:
Be a standalone executeable with or without data files.
Use no more than 600K of conventional memory.
Exit by pressing ESC-key at any time.
Run from harddisk and CD-rom.
Support silent mode (-nosound).
Have a running length of no more than 10 minutes.
Take up no more than 15 Mb on disk.

AMIGA DEMO

Entries will be played on an Amiga 4000 using Accessible
player.
A jury consisting of 5 guests will select 25-30 modules
which will compete.
MULTICHANNEL MUSIC
------------------
No more than 5 minutes will be played.
Max. 32 channels.
Maximum module size is 1024 kbytes.
Formats allowed are: MOD, S3M, XM & MTM.
Entries will be played on a GUS MAX using Cubic-Player.
A jury consisting of 5 guests will select 25-30 modules
which will compete.
PIXEL GRAPHICS
--------------
The image will be shown for 20 seconds.
Only TIFF, GIF, JPG and IFF formats allowed.
Max. 24 bit color depth (16.7M colors).
Max. resolution 1024 x 768, no colorcycling effects
allowed.
No signature on compo picture but a second picture with
signature may be included for spreading.
PIXEL GRAPHICS

The image will be shown for 20 seconds.

HOW TO GET THERE
By car from Norway/Sweden:
Use the ferry to Frederikshavn, and follow the southbound
road towards Aalborg and the E45 road. After driving
through the tunnel, take the first exit and follow
The Party signs.
By car from Germany:
Follow the E45 northbound, take the exit at Aalborg S and
follow The Party signs.
By Train:
Order a ticket to Aalborg, when you get of the train at the
railway-station, follow the tunnel under the tracks away
from the railway-station and you're there.
By Airplane:
Go by airplane to Aalborg airport, you might have to change
airplane in Copenhagen. When in Aalborg just get on the
airport bus and ask for Aalborg kongres og kultur center
(in english: Aalborg congress and culture center).
