RADIO U BATTLE OF THE BANDS
As many of you know we were selected to play in last qualifier for the Radio U Battle of the Bands finals held on Sunday. We got to perform on Saturday and had a great time at the festival. Needless to say we did not win so we didn't get to perform again on Sunday but it was still worth the trip. Thank you, to all who covered us in prayer. We would also like to say hi to our friends at Rugged Records. You guys are doing a great job, keep up the good work.

Lucent (formerly Sons of Thunder) is a multi-faceted local ministry that incorporates rap and pop music along with dynamic feats of strength to get across the saving message of Christ. Although I'm certain that to really appreciate Lucent you must see them live, this ten-song Indie CD, produced and arranged by the band, makes for a fine tool of ministry. There's no mincing of words here - you get the gospel straight on, through plenty of Holy Ghost - inspired rapping and singing on tracks like "Spiritual Kombat", "Rage", and "Anointing." There are also a couple of worshipful ballads included ("Wind of Glory" and "Next To You").

LUCENT NEWS
- OK guys here's the low down with the Ripley's Believe it or not program. As of this moment Ripley's will be at the Youth Fest Festival in Louisville, KY on July 17th to film our concert. In fact the organizers of Youth Fest are talking to the people at Ripley's and plan on building them a separate stage so they can film above the crowd. As you can imagine this is bringing a lot of attention not only to us but to the festival. So, the local news channels will be at the festival too. Just think about this for a moment. A Christian music festival with Lucent, Insyders, Jennifer Knapp, K2S, Chasing Furies and a few others will be a featured story on our local news. How cool is that! Another great opportunity has arose also do to the local news station covering the event has covered our concerts before. We have been informed the Local news is interested in briefly interviewing us again as they have in the past. Please pray with us that they will not back down from their coverage on this event. We want them to cover it and interview someone. If it's not us it doesn't matter, just that they cover the festival and show people in the Louisville, KY area that God is real and is still moving!!!
- The CMA vol. 4 is out and chances are your local Christian station has it. For a complete listing of the stations that have the CMA Radio Sampler in your area visit our web site and view the list we have at the bottom. Be sure to call your local station and request Lucent. Come on, it will only take you just a minute. :)
- Guinness Book of World Records has also contacted us and we have scheduled a date for September. We are planning to fly to Hollywood to film the Guinness Prime Time Live. As I said this is tentative and could be changed to some time in August, or even later in the year. Just keep this in your prayers as the Lord seems to be working this out and their is still the possibility Guinness may back out. Just agree together in prayer with us that they won't.
- If you haven't done so in a while visit the Lucent home page again at http://welcome.to/lucent and check out the new stuff. We have a few changes we have made and have added a Feats photo album with several pictures of us breaking concrete, ripping phone books, and all that fun stuff. Be sure to tell your friends, youth groups, and churches about our web site. Help us out by having your church place our web site address in their church bulletin or announcing it to your church youth group. If anyone would like to do a right up on our ministry for your churches newsletters let us know any information you would need and feel free to use any pictures or information we have posted on our web site. Also, if any of you guys have Lucent fan sites be sure to let us know where they are at. We would love to include them in our newsletter so everyone can see your work.
- We have a confirmed booking at Sellersburg Celebrates on August the 29th. We will be performing about 2:00 that afternoon and it will be a full concrete show. We will give more details on the concert as the date draws near but it will be in Sellersburg, IN for all you Hoosiers out there.
