NULL mag Issue 06 11 What about VPN
today, every app you will open, every web page, you will see an ad.
about vpn... so lets talk a bit about that. first watch this video to
get a good idea, on why a vpn is not a solution and continue after:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oja3UzuuqGQ
you did watch the video... right? :) anyway... a vpn is a computer
far from you. you connect to that computer and you pass all your data
through that connection/computer... but what do you know for this
computer, connection, company? who are they? and what they will do
with all your data passing from there? can they "steel" them? for
sure they can... can they exploit them?... yep they can... can they
sell them to other companies / govs.? oh yes!!!!
so what stops them from that? only one thing TRUST/RESPONSIBILITY!
you trust all your data to them and you think that they will act
responsible and don't do something bad. does this is enough for you?
have you heard in the past, about companies who also told you to
trust them and afterwards they sold all your info to other companies?
so why this wont happen again?
...and what about, if a gov. come with an order to this vpn provider
and force them to give them all the data, what can you do then? and
what was the point in the first hand to go to a vpn service, if this
is possible... after all, was it the gov. that you wanted to avoid?
if there is no way to do this, why even subscribe to a service like
this? and risk "leaking" of your data to other companies or so?
the thing is... that there is no 100% actuall security in the net. if
you are connected, specially with a dsl connection, they know
everything for you or they just can learn anything for you. your isp,
your gov. can learn about you, even if you are behind a vpn or not.
its just a matter of "if they want to" and not "if they can".
so instead of risking your security and connecting to servers,
computers, vpns of unknown "origin", it would be better to find
another way to watch porn or movies on the net... :p you should
connect from the neighboors wifi hahahahaha... (actually don't... i
didn't mean that... and i don't do it... really i don't )
