Pear & watercress smoothie
Morning pick-me-up

- Preparation time: 10 minutes + freezing
- Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 1 ripe medium banana (about 100 g)
- 1 ripe Comice pear, peeled, cored and chopped
- 50 g Waitrose Watercress
- 6 mint leaves
- 1⁄2 lime, juice
- 1 cm fresh root ginger (about 2-3g), peeled and chopped
Method
- Roughly chop the banana and put in a freezerproof container. Freeze for at least 2 hours or ideally overnight, until solid.
- When ready to make your smoothie, put all the ingredients, including the frozen banana, in a high-speed blender. Add 150-200 ml ice-cold water and blend until smooth. Serve at once.
Cook's tip
The riper the pear and banana are, the sweeter yoru smoothie will be. To give it more sweetness, add a handful of green grapes or a pitted medjool date.
