Attention: This is an alternative installation for users that want to activate/deactivate the X-B.I.T Stealth-Mode "STM" by pressing the XBox power-button as described at the bottom of this page. Step 1 Download the X-B.I.T PC-Flash Software at the "download" section and start the software. The following application window should be visible: Step 2 Connect the X-B.I.T external board to the PCB with the bundled USB-cable. Attention: Ensure that the "write protect"-seal of the X-B.I.T internal board is removed. You can flash the X-B.I.T even when it is not installed into the console. The X-B.I.T LED indicates the current condition of the XBox: - The X-B.I.T LED is "on" (glowing) when the XBox bootet from a patched (non-original) Bios - The X-B.I.T LED is "off" (not glowing) when the XBox bootet from the original bios. The STM-Switch has no effect after the system got powered up and the console booted from any bios. INFO_01 :: 09/10/2003 We got informed that a few people have problems using the X.B.I.T PC-Flash software on systems running Windows®XP. It took a while to investigate that problem but we think we have found the reason now: We have tested the PC-Flash software together with the X-B.I.T hardware successfully on several PCs running Windows®XP. We can confirm that the problem is not only caused by the operation system itself. The error occurs when using Windows®XP together with a certain "NEC" chipset on your PC-mainboard.
