Playstation 2: renaming an ELF (for compatibility with Open PS2 Loader)
To get your ISO to appear in OPL, youll need to rename your ELF as "SLUS_123.45" (OR similar).
(pretty much anything using the below format):
CODE:
4 Letters/Numbers
_
3 Letters/Numbers
.
2 Letters/Numbers
(NO SPACES ANYWHERE IN NAME)
To RECAP... basically its a 432 count, seperated by "_" and then "."
EXAMPLES:
ABCD_123.45 , 1234_ABC.DE, A1B2_C3D.4E, 1234_567.89, ABCD_EFG.HI, WHAT_THE.FU , UCIT_000.00
...Im sure you get the idea by now...
Do NOT forget to remove the ".ELF" extension.
(Dont Laugh... Ive Done This... lol)
The two letters or numbers at the end of the ELFname (whatever you put after the "."), are now your new extension.
(your computer may give you warnings while changing extensions, but dont be so paranoid, its only the name and can be changed back if you mess up)
Did you Laugh Out Loud when you read "WHAT_THE.FU" ?
I know I did lol.
FINAL NOTE:
The OPL game format and ELF NAMING issues come up time and again in the forums.
It has tripped me up before, and still trips others up as well.
I thought it might be worthwhile to mention that the "White OPL Debug Screen" usually points to this labelling error.
(either with the ELF itself, or matching it with the SYSTEM.CNF file -please use copy/paste when matching these two together)
-----Enjoy!
