Steamed Golden Pomfret with Scallions and Ginger 清蒸金鯧魚

  1. Clean golden pomfret (gut out) with 2-3 Tbsp of salt. Rinse it good
  2. Place few slices of gingers and whole scallions inside and outside the fish (top & bottom)
  3. Cut 1/4 cup of thin gingers and scallions, set aside
  4. Preheat the food steamer to boiling
  5. Put the fish in the food steamer. It takes 10-12 minutes for medium size fish and 13-14 minutes for large size
  6. Once it’s done, let the fish sit in the steamer for 2 more minutes
  7. Remove all the ginger and scallions, move the fish to a serving plate
  8. Put the cut shredded ginger and scallions on top of the fish
  9. Heat up 3 Tbsp of hot oil pour on top of the fish
  10. Add 1-2 Tbsp of soy sauce
  11. Add handful of cut cilantro, ready to serve.
