In ogni casa esisteva una caddargiola ( piccola caldaia di rame stagnato) adibita allo scopo di ricavare lo strutto dal grasso di maiale, strutto che doveva risultare di un bianco puro e veniva conservato nella vescica e nelle budelle dello stesso animale.

In ogni casa oltre allo strutto si conservavano gelosamente is gerdas ( i ciccioli) che servivano poi prevalentemente come ingredienti di minestre e minestroni.
